Allan McInnes Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Allan Bruce McInnes on March 11, 2024 after many years of battling kidney failure.

He was born on September 11, 1935 in New Westminster, BC and moved to Revelstoke when he was only eight years old.  After graduating from High School and attending UBC, he returned to Revelstoke and continued working with the family owned Sawmills, until beginning his career at Bell Pole at which he remained at  until his retirement in 1996.

Allan was a family man through and through.  He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Evelyn,  children Tom( Amy ) Coueffin,  Jean Allison ( Gaynor) Pesch,  Keith ( Laura) Coueffin, Barb ( Greg ) Byman,  grandchildren and great grandchildren, brother John ( Cindy), sister in law Una, nieces, nephews, great niece and nephew

Allan took every opportunity to share his love of the outdoors and environment with his 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his parents, Archibald and Christine, his sisters Marion and Sylvia and nephew Gordon Correnti.

Allan will be remembered for his extensive community service. He spent countless hours coaching, judging and packing the ski jump hill. He also had a passion for the Nordic ski club and took pride in skiing down “Alley Oop” a trail named in his honor.  He took pride in grooming those very trails for over 25 years.

Allan was an original member of the Vintage car club and just last month resigned as a Director from the BC Interior Forestry Museum.

Allan was attended over the years by a fine team of professionals.  Special thanks to Dr Molder, Foot care Nurse Sam, Nurse next door Carol and Robyn and his renal team from the Kelowna hospital.

Family and Friends are invited to share Allan’s “Celebration of Life”, Wednesday, April 24, 2024 2 – 5 pm at the Regent Begbie Room.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Allan’s honor to the Kelowna Renal Unit or your charity of choice.  Anyone who knows Allan knows there weren’t many charities he didn’t support.
